OREGON CASCADES
We traveled over 18 miles in two days through the High Cascades of Oregon, a place Iβve always called home. This landscape is where I first discovered my love for adventure, and no matter how far I wander, itβs a place that always brings me peace. So, it only felt right for this to be the first location in my Trailblazer series.
My vision for Trailblazer is to capture the heart of the Western spirit of Oregon blending the cowboy lifestyle with the wild, beautiful landscapes that make this state so special.
But this project means more to me than just photography and adventure.
After losing my mom last month, I found myself struggling to get out of bed. I was grieving, feeling depressed, and searching for something that would give me a sense of purpose again. I needed an outlet to be creative, find community, and support my mental health through something that felt meaningful to me.
Then I remembered the vision I had for this project last year. And suddenly, the timing felt right.
So I started planning. I started creating. I gave myself something to look forward to, a reason to get outside, and a way to reconnect with the things that make me feel alive. Little by little, this vision gave me a reason to get out of bed on the days when it felt difficult to do so.
In a way, Trailblazer is becoming more than a creative project. Itβs a reminder that even in the middle of grief, we can still find moments of beauty, purpose, and connection.
This is the beginning of something Iβve been dreaming about for a long time.
The first of five locations. The first chapter of Trailblazer. π€π²π€
